If you have a student in a District 19 school in East New York, the next four weeks are important. New York State Regents exams run from June 9 through June 26 — and there are several days when school will not be in session that families need to plan around now.

What Are Rating Days?
Rating Days are when teachers score Regents exams. Schools are open for staff but students do not attend. June 22 and June 26 are both Rating Days — make sure your childcare plans account for those two days.

- Confirm your student's exam schedule directly with their school — not every student takes every Regents exam
- Plan childcare for June 19 (Juneteenth), June 22, and June 26 — students are not in school on those days
- Check graduation requirements — passing certain Regents exams is required to graduate in New York State
- Contact your school's guidance counselor if your student needs accommodations or has concerns about exam readiness

District 19 schools often offer additional prep sessions and tutoring before Regents exams. Contact your school directly to ask what is available. You can also reach NYC Public Schools at schools.nyc.gov or call 311 and ask for student support resources in your district.
